With Us, No One Gets Left Behind
We know the struggles that come with the transition back to civilian life all too well.
Our Founder and honored veteran, Deke Letson, faced many challenges after discharge but every single one led him to start Veterans Exploration Therapy.
Together, we reignite hope in veterans and their families through exploration, transformation, and healing.
We’re Not Just an Adventure Organization
We teach veterans and their family members new outdoor exploration skills that simultaneously tie into improving their mental health and daily lives for years to come.
Our mission is to support veterans and their families by fostering mental wellness through shared outdoor experiences.
Empowering Veterans Through Nature
At Veterans Exploration Therapy, we envision a world where every veteran finds healing and purpose through the transformative power of nature.
Our commitment is to create supportive environments that foster resilience, connection, and a renewed sense of belonging.
We create exciting opportunities for veterans to build skills, confidence, and hope through the transformative power of nature.
Embrace The S.U.C.K.
Experiencing mental health issues can be scary. When veterans go through difficult emotions, they can't think clearly. Instead, they are taken over by fear, anxiety, anger, embarrassment, depression, and helplessness.
We've taken the term "Embrace the S.U.C.K." and developed an acronym for veterans to remember during difficult times. It's a way for veterans to understand what's happening at that moment and have a plan of action to find safety.
Stop what you're doing - Recognize that something's not right.
Understand that your thoughts are normal - For people who have gone through similar experiences.
Change your scenery - Remove yourself from the situation and call a friend.
Know that you are loved - Don't fix a temporary problem with a permanent solution.
